Divine Halal Swedish Meatballs

Cooking Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, finely chopped onion, garlic, and spices.
Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overworking the mixture to maintain a tender texture.
Roll into evenly sized meatballs, approximately golf-ball size.

Step 2: Cook the Meatballs

Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 6 to 8 minutes total.
Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Gravy

In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to remove the raw taste.
Gradually pour in the halal beef broth while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
Add cream, soy sauce (optional), black pepper, and salt.
Simmer until the gravy thickens to a smooth, velvety consistency.

Step 4: Combine and Finish

Return the meatballs to the pan.
Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, or until fully cooked through and coated in the rich gravy.
