Ingredients

• 1 lb Divine Foods USA flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
• ¼ cup cornstarch
• 2 tablespoons neutral oil (avocado or vegetable)
Sauce
• ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce or halal-certified tamari
• ⅓ cup brown sugar or honey
• ¼ cup water
• 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional, recommended for depth)
• 1 teaspoon sesame oil
• 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
• 4 garlic cloves, minced
• ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Finish
• 4 green onions, sliced
• Sesame seeds (optional garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Beef
Toss the thinly sliced Divine beef with cornstarch until evenly coated.
Allow it to rest for 5 minutes — this step creates the signature light, crispy texture when seared.
Step 2: Sear the Beef
Heat oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cook the beef in batches, ensuring the pan is not overcrowded.
Sear for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and slightly crisp.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Sauce
In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in soy sauce, brown sugar (or honey), water, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.
Step 4: Combine and Glaze
Return the beef to the pan.
Toss until fully coated in the sauce.
Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce becomes glossy and clings to the beef.
Step 5: Finish
Add sliced green onions and gently toss.
Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
